UPDATE: GNAW BONE TENDERLOIN TAKES A TRIP
The famous Gnaw Bone Tenderloin sandwich has a new address. The famous Hoosier delicacy, featured in the winter 2007 SOUTH magazine, now is being served exclusively at Salt Creek Golf Retreat in Nashville, just a few miles west of Gnaw Bone. Beni Clevenger, the creator of the tenderloin and other regional favorites, closed his longtime food and fuel stop on State Road 46 in December and brought his menu to Salt Creek in January. “Beni is overseeing our 19th Hole Bar and Grill, and he brought his recipes here,” said Heather Van Ness, Salt Creek owner and lodge manager. “We still have the same tenderloin and the same prices.” The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily with live blue grass music every first and third Friday.
